Harvard University is situated around 3 miles from downtown Boston, which is a major city on the east coast of the United States. The university itself is located in a medium sized town called Cambridge and is in an urban setting.

The University
Harvard University takes into account all areas of the university, including the business school, which it is most famous for. Harvard College is what you may hear it referred to as, which is the part of the university where undergraduate students will study. Harvard is probably best known for the business school which is world renowned in its own right but their undergraduate program is also one of the best in the world. Harvard is currently ranked as the number 2 university in the world according to the Times, which it shares with Cambridge University here in the UK. The average student to faculty ratio is 7:1 and 97% of their students graduate within the predicted timeline. The most popular undergraduate area of study is the social sciences and also Biology. This is a very selective university so to gain an athletic or academic scholarship to this university you will need to be finishing high school with the highest possible grades and with good extra-curricular activities as well.

Athletics
Harvard University are known as the Crimson and are part of the Ivy League conference. Within this conference you will find other highly academic universities such as Stanford, Yale and Princeton. Harvard University has been represented in every modern Olympic Games, with 10 athletes from Harvard competing at the London 2012 games. Harvard has also won 143 national or NCAA titles across all of their sports and has won at least one championship in 26 of the last 28 years. This university is always a contender for the national championship in each sport and has many athletes go on to play professionally. Harvard combines world class academics with world class facilities and athletic performances on a regular basis.
